From Concept to Creation
When Marie-Pier, our product designer, joined Auclair five years ago, her first task was to design a women's specific collection. She was deeply honored and felt a strong need to address the issues in women’s gear. Growing up, she started skiing at 4 and switched to snowboarding at 11. It was always frustrating for her to visit ski shops and never find what she needed. She often ended up in the men’s section, with gear that wasn’t adapted to her body. Everything looked the same—fuchsia, turquoise, dark purple with fake fur and snowflakes. She wanted feminine colors, but not the cheesy, girly ones. She preferred shades like brown, beige, olive, and pastels, with no unnecessary details—just pure performance. What began as a collection quickly became a movement.
The Powgirl collection focuses on fit, comfort, and functionality to enhance performance. It's also about boosting the confidence of women athletes, knowing they have gear specifically designed for their needs. Men's hands are different from women's, and while unisex products can sometimes be great, they don’t provide the best fit for women who want gloves or mitts that truly fit. Our goal is to offer women the products they've always wanted, giving them the chance to feel heard and seen, with gear that helps them be the best version of themselves.
