from 759 reviewsI own a pair of Auclair mittens, the WWPB Giagatex model, which are designed for cross country skiing. These mittens definitely have some strong points, but there's one aspect that may not suit everyone.
Let's start with the positives:
Classic Style: The WWPB Giagatex mittens have a classic cross country design that appeals to those who appreciate a timeless look.
Protection from the Elements: These mittens excel in providing protection from the harsh winter elements. They are windproof and water-resistant, ensuring your hands stay dry and warm in challenging conditions.
Durability: The reinforced finger tips and knit storm cuff add durability, making them reliable for outdoor activities.
Comfortable Lining: The cozy polyester lining is comfortable and keeps your hands snug, which is essential for cold weather.
Adjustable Fit: The adjustable wrist strap allows for a secure fit, so you can fine-tune the mittens to your liking.
Breathability: Despite their warmth, these mittens maintain good breathability, which is crucial during high-intensity activities like cross country skiing.
Now, here's the one potential drawback:
Heat: These mittens are exceptionally warm, almost to the point of being too hot for some users. While this may be a plus in extremely cold conditions, it might be a bit much if you tend to get warm easily.
In summary, the WWPB Giagatex mittens from Auclair offer outstanding protection, durability, and comfort, making them a great choice for cross country skiing and other winter activities. However, if you're someone who prefers a lighter level of warmth, these mittens might be a touch too hot.
Always a glove guy, I made the switch to mitts. While they don't have the dexterity of gloves (which aren't really that good), these are very well made and the ability to have fingers together generates more warmth. I get the impression these will last forever...
Great gloves. They look real good. They're tough and going to last a long time. Nothing else compares to them.
Just received the gloves I ordered a few days ago. Delivery was prompt. Gloves feel warm and comfortable. They also fit like... you guessed it, like a glove. Very good product. Looking forward to cold weather skis next season.
We love the gloves! Best purchase we ever made. Love Auclair gloves and these did not disappoint.
Warm. Stylish. Worth every penny. Delivered to my house in 3 days too.
Very happy with these gloves. I usually wear large and these fit perfectly. Would definitely buy again.
Warm, comfortable, well-fitting. The fact that the gorgeous materials are entirely sustainable makes these solidly non plus ultra, for sure. Would love to see more of Auclair's products follow in the eco-handprints of these badass mitts.
I wore these for a day of skiing with temperatures in the 10's Fahrenheit, and my hands stayed completely dry and warm! Additionally, they are very soft inside, and I like the design. These mittens were a splurge purchase for me from REI, and I was amazed by the difference that more expensive mittens made. In fact, I was so impressed by these Auclair mittens that I came to this website now specifically to buy this same brand for my kids, because they were complaining about how colds their hands were on our ski day with their normal snow mittens.
Never though that I could rock something that nice, durable, warm and at the same time, to have a good impact on the environment! Kudos to Auclair to have created this glove :)
The Outseam Mitts will keep your hands very warm on the coldest of days, and its unique design makes them extremely comfortable. They are super durable, and perform amazing all over the mountain, no matter the conditions. If you are looking for a mitt to keep your hands cozy and comfortable all season long, look no further than the Outseam Mitts.
