I read two previous reviews of these mitts. One said they are fantastic and the other said they are not good as your hands get wet, then cold. Both reviews are right. These mittens are wonderfully warm. They are very well constructed, high quality mittens with the leather and the down. However, the leather does not breathe very well so your hands can get wet. The solution is to take your hands out once in a while to prevent moisture build up. I wear these downhill skiing in the mountains. At first, my hands were getting cold due to moisture and I was disappointed. However, now I just pull my hands out of my mittens for 10 seconds after I get on the chairlift and my hands dry out. It seems counter intuitive but your hands stay warmer if you take them out of the mittens once in awhile (even at minus 20 C). These are now my go to mitts for cold weather. My wife also has a pair. She finds them extremely warm and she does not have the moisture build up issue. They do fit on the smaller side. I ordered a large and they just fit but I could have sized up to XL.
These are fantastic, well made mitts. They look great and are really comfortable. I’ve been wearing these skiing in -20 all season and they’ve been great. I usually wear a large in gloves but needed to go up to an XL for these.
These are the worst gloves I have ever worn. In fur mittens it was always warm up to -25-30 degrees. In Auglair mittens, already at a temperature of minus 10 degrees, my hands became wet and froze very quickly, and this despite the fact that I moved my fingers. Perhaps the reason is that the down inside and the inner lining accumulated moisture instead of keeping warm. $10 Dollarama mittens kept warm better down to minus 15 degrees
